Hi, I'm Iain Barker, host of the Back Pain Liberation Podcast and creator of the Back Pain Liberation System.

I started getting back problems in 1993, so that's 28 years of figuring out what works (and what really doesn't) when it comes to chronic back pain.

I've been coaching the BPL System 1-on-1 successfully for several years. To help even more people I am now launching live streamed group classes.

It's not about boot camp, no pain no gain, workouts. This is low intensity, low impact exercise.

With regular training, most people can significantly reduce, or even eliminate, back pain.

But, not all exercise is created equal.

Over nearly 3 decades I've tried a whole lot of different training modalities, kept what works and thrown out what doesn't.

While the BPL System is unique, it draws heavily on years of training in:

  • Yoga
  • Pilates
  • Physical therapy exercises
  • Tai Chi
  • Qigong

 

Keep It Simple

All sessions are around 30 minutes long to fit into your busy schedule.

It's important that you take this time just for yourself and really focus on the training.

No special equipment is required, just an internet connection and a suitably-placed device to see and hear the live-stream while you train.

You don't need tons of space, just enough to take a step or so and extend your arms all around you. A clear, uncluttered area is best.

Choose clothes that let you move freely and shoes with a good grip (or barefoot if you prefer).

If you struggle with balance then you may want to have something like a dining chair close to hand, that you can use to steady yourself.

 

Making Progress

As with everything in life, you get out what you put in.

Train consistently to get the results.

In the Introductory Session you will learn the 3 Essential Posture Improvements and the fundamentals of unilateral training.

Afterwards, you will be welcome in Level 1 classes and can repeat the Introductory Session as often as you want at no extra cost.

Practicing the basics is very important so I highly recommend you take advantage of these free training sessions.

When you move on to Level 2 classes you can also train Level 1 for free and so on.

In other words, you never pay for more than 1 session per week but can train as much as you want in classes up to your current level.

Terms and Conditions

The Back Pain Liberation System is a program of moderate exercise that most people can manage.

The nature of live streaming is that I cannot see or hear what's going on at your end; I cannot be responsible for your welfare during or after the training session.

By booking and attending any training you acknowledge that you have:

  • Seen your own doctor about your back pain, and the suitability of moderate exercise.
  • Made your own assessment of whether such an exercise program is suitable for you.
  • Put in place any necessary measures to limit risk, e.g. have someone check on you at the end of the session.
  • Read and accepted the Back Pain Liberation Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.

Every effort is made to provide the Live Stream classes according to the timetable. There may be circumstances (e.g. illness, family emergency) where I am not able to stream a session live. In this case there will be a pre-recorded video class available instead and your membership will be extended by way of recompense.
